It’s the time of year where Christmas is over, the excitement and bustle of December has died down… and we are left with …. January. and … February. …. sigh. I don’t know if you can relate, but I get downright sad when the cold and darkness of these winter months set in. SO I’ve got my Etsy/Pinterest thinking hat on, and came across some inspiration. To get those creative juices flowing (aka the only juices that are ever REALLY flowing inside this little head of mine)… I’ve decided much to my boyfriend’s annoyance that I will take on Passion Project 2013: bedroom makeover. Now… those of you who know me know that no look ever lasts very long in my apartment. But I will have you know - the bedroom has been the same for a soliiiddd 3.5 years. Not to mention I’ve had this crappy IKEA bedframe that has pieces missing from it and could collapse at any second for SEVEN years. YES. SEVEN. I think I owe myself a new IKEA bedframe ;). Gold and black will forevermore be in my brain as a scorpio… and how better to punch up neutrals with that poweful duo? Updates will come shortly! Too much if I try for a taxidermified zebra?? …

I’m not sure what I’m more excited about… Tory Burch @ Yorkdale or J.Crew coming to the Eaton Centre in October. One thing’s for sure - Burch’s store design for her first Canadian store makes my heart flutter. Here’s some tips on how to get the look in your home (if you dare!), plus some of my picks from her pre fall collection. Enjoy! acid green carpet, IKEA, white linen chandelier shade, Crate and Barrel, Eduardo chandelier, Plantation Design, zebra carpet, Ebay, gold mirror, simplymirrors.com, ikat fabric, spoonflower.com (YOU MUST GO TO THIS! amazing!), driftwood table, Crate and Barrel, lacquer boxes, Gramercy & Co.

A girlfriend of mine just bought her first townhouse and I’m so proud of her! Here’s a sneak peak of her bachelorette pad in progress!

Since my appearance on Steven and Chris, I’ve started to make some changes. As we filmed that piece in the dead of winter, it’s time to bring in some colour for the summer months and beyond!! Top Left: Hermes orange dog tray, vintage. Thomas Paul teacup and saucer, Anthropologie necklace, drawer knob and candle, Homesense side table and linen/glass lamp
Top Right: New Rug that I LOVE coming home to:  West Elm
Bottom Left: green chair: Eq3, vintage teacup.
Bottom RIght: Still deciding what kind of paint treatment I’ll do for the family wall!

Thank you to everyone who watched my segment and commented on the piece! I got a bunch of questions asking where things are from so here are some answers to those of you who were wondering! Thanks to Cathy and Jessica for writing to me! If you have any design dilemmas you need answered, have any designers you’d like to see in a wear the room or any inspiration for a particular room, don’t hesitate to email me! Pictures always help :) Thanks again! Olivia
